Whenerver light is incident on the boundary between two media, some light is reflectd and some is transmitted, undergoing
refraction into the second medium. The key to efficiently manipulating light in an optical system is precisely control the
amounts of light that are reflected or transmitted. That is the job of the optical coating. |
